Our muttering retreats and the question: are you the expert on your life?

In this pilot episode for Rob & Dolli: Life to Life, we, a Canadian and a German, discuss literature, philosophy, psychology and other facets of... well... life. We open our friendly and playful banter with Dolli reading from her favourite English language poem, T.S. Eliot's 'The Love Song of J. Afred Prufrock', setting the tone for our chat where we discuss a midlife crisis, literary dreams and our goals.  We touch on some things heavy with some things light. Join us for our new adventure!

Let us go then, you and I,

Le Déjeuner des canotiers (The Luncheon of the Boating Party), 1880-81, Pierre August Renoir - Phillips Collection, Washington, D.C.

When the evening is spread out against the sky

Like a patient etherized upon a table;

Let us go, through certain half-deserted streets,

The muttering retreats

Of restless nights in one-night cheap hotels

And sawdust restaurants with oyster-shells:

Streets that follow like a tedious argument

Of insidious intent

To lead you to an overwhelming question ...

Oh, do not ask, “What is it?”

Let us go and make our visit.
